The baby shirt is made from extremely fine cotton thread. It is crafted using the mesh crochet technique, creating floral decorations. The bottom of the shirt is finished with an ornamental edging that is slightly longer than the fabric itself, and the edges of the sleeves, as well as the edges of the sides of the shirt, are completed with a slightly different pattern to highlight the fabric. The shirt sleeves are crocheted separately and then sewn together afterwards.
The shirt is part of the contents of the box labelled: This crocheted or knitted item is handmade by our late grandmother Fagioni. It was used as a baby wrap for Father when he was little in 1936.
